Magnificent Bird and Blooming Flowers
The painting was completed in 2023 and is made on watercolor paper with mixtures of microcellulose and acrylic paints. The painting measures 36 x 48 cm and is behind glass in a display frame.
The spark for this painting came from wondering which animal could have iridescent properties, and I settled on a bird and bird feathers. The bird in the painting has thin red and yellow nanocellulose films that create an iridescent effect in light or sunlight. All the flower petals are nanocellulose films. The films are lightweight and sway in the air currents.
